Training Update
Yea, Hurray!
As of Monday night, we have finally received authorization to train on a select number of outdoor fields in Hailey. Currently, the field space at WRMS and at Hailey Elementary, also known as Nelson Fields, are now open for our use. As long as our coaches deem the pitch playable, you're good to go! Due to afterschool activities at both locations, we may use the space at WRMS after 6:00PM and the space at Nelson Fields after 5:30PM. As we have only just heard of our authorization, the club training schedule is in flux and in transition. And, we need to take into account that additional fields and times will be forthcoming, altering the schedule as such news is delivered. Developing a viable training schedule atuned to accomodating all teams takes a bit of time, so we ask for your patience. This week, it may be that your coach is able to notify you of your team's training session the evening before or the day-of. Thank you for your understanding!
See you on the pitch!
EXCITING NEWS!!!
Kelly Thees has been recently appointed as Program Director of Sawtooth United's Development Program! Join us as we enthusiastically embrace Kelly, also a Sawtooth Coach with the Competitve Program, in her new and additional club role.
According to Kelly, she grew up a storybook child on Camano Island, located in Washington State's Puget Sound, boating, crabbing and fort building. At age six, she started playing soccer. She played select soccer for Skagit Storm all the way through her senior year of high school in addition to playing school ball, captaining her high school varsity team her senior year.
Upon graduating from high school with a 3.998 GPA (Wow!), Kelly then attended Western Washington University where she merited a BA in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. During her collegiate years, she opted to approach soccer at a more casual level, playing intramural soccer and coaching local youth soccer in Bellingham. At a more competitive, divergent level, Kelly competed in water skiing with Western's club team. She captained the team for two years. Even more notably, not only did Kelly take her team to Nationals in the fall of 2009 (the first time Western's team had been to Nationals in seventeen years!), but she also received the National Collegiate Water Ski Association's Female Leader of the Year award in 2009. Totally cool!
In the spring of 2010, Kelly moved to Ketchum, Idaho. Why? To be a ski bum. Duh! To complement her winter skiing lifestyle, she picked up coaching youth soccer, again, joining the Sawtooth united F.C. coaching staff in the spring of 2011. She has been coaching the GU10 Competitive team and absolutely adores her time with them!
Currently, in addition to her new role as Program Director of Sawtooth United's Development Program, Kelly is on staff at The Pioneer and works with Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation as a part-time Administrative Assistant.
Oh, and she skis a TON!
